Mapping Intersex Study at DCU: Report of findings
The report uncovers the lived experiences of those with intersex/variations of sex characteristics (I/VSC), their partners and the health care professionals who care for them in Ireland. It sets this analysis in the context of the legal response to I/VSC in order to determine how Ireland meets its obligations towards those with I/VSC. The report brings together an understanding of I/VSC from the perspectives of sociological, medical and legal disciplines. It paints a comprehensive picture of the current state of I/VSC in Ireland.
Link to the publications section of the project website where you can find the link to the report. As more publications and resources emerge, they will be posted on this page. https://www.dcu.ie/intersex/publications
Reprofutures have produced 3 resources:
1) a support guide for the friends, families and partners of people with VSCs,
2) a project findings report, and
3) policy and practice recommendations for healthcare professionals.
You can also find these resources on their website in different accessible versions: https://sites.exeter.ac.uk/reprofutures/.
